Persons or organizations desiring to use this material for purposes other than stated above must obtain the written consent of the file contributor. ====================================================================== The Purcell Register - December 27, 1956 Final Rites Held for Mrs. Beach Pioneer Resident Dies Saturday Final rites for Mrs. Gordie Belle Beach, 65, were conducted Monday afternoon in the First Baptist church, of which she was a member. Mrs. Beach died Saturday afternoon at the Purcell convalescent home after an extended illness. Mrs. Beach, who was born March 5, 1891, in Crystal Falls, Tex., and her husband, George, have been residents of Purcell and vicinity since before statehood. Saturday was their 47th wedding anniversary. Services were held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Carlos Berry officiating. Burial was in Hillside cemetery with Primrose Funeral home, Norman, in charge. Survivors in addition to her husband are one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Sade, Ft. Stockton, Tex.; three sons, Carnius Beach, Wheeler, Tex., Rondell C. Beach, with the U.S. air force in Anchorage, Alaska, and Birdenell Beach, with the U.S. army at Ft. Sill. Also three brothers, Earl Simpson, Lexington, Lloyd Simpson, Purcell, and Glen Simpson, Oklahoma City, and two sisters, Mrs. Floy Ware, route 2, Moore, and Mrs. Willie Jones, Oklahoma City. Bearers were Bethel Cobb, Bill Hays, Curtis Melton, J.C. Nance, Roy Munn and C.L. Winchester. Honorary bearers included Albert Ferguson, Jack Hays, Bud Kappel, L.F. Pennington, H.R. Stephens and George Tippit.
