She was born April 19, 1904 in Lone Elm, Oklahoma, but was raised in Blanchard, Oklahoma. Survivors include her step-daughter, Evelyn Soward of Glendale, California and Newcastle, Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews. Lois was proud of her Choctaw heritage and was #918 on the Choctaw Indian Roll. She was a member of P.E.O., Kachina Republican Womens Club and Oasis Womens Club in Phoenix. Lois was predeceased by her husband of 70 years, Jack Burris of Phoenix and step-daughter, Eileen Dunning Wesnidge. Lois graduated from Blanchard Elementary and High School. She attended Oklahoma Womens College in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Services will be Tuesday, January 11, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Blanchard. Rev. Ray Sims officiating with interment following the service at the Blanchard Cemetery.
