Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with Dick Marcear of Central Church of Christ officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Byers was born in Newcastle, Okla. For more than 50 years, he owned and operated Byers Vacuum and Sewing Machine. He was a Mason and a member of Central Church of Christ for more than 20 years. He married Muriel Escoe in 1927 at Healdton, Okla. Preceding him in death was his wife in 1990 and a son, Bill R. Byers, in 1980. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Williams of Amarillo; three brothers, Jerry Byers of Phoenix, Tommy Byers of Palm Springs, Calif., and Johnny Byers of Spokane, Wash.; and three granddaughters. The family will be at 7212 Versailles. They suggest memorials be to High Plains Children's Home.
