Cobb, 81, Norman, were held Saturday at Little's Funeral Chapel. Rev. Leslie Brown and Dr. G. Hugh Wilson officiated and burial was in the family plot in Hillside Cemetery. Cobb was born August 25, 1905 in Norman. He grew up in Purcell, was a memeber of the Purcell Dragon football team and graduated here in 1925. He owned and operated Cobb's Cleaners & Laundry here for several years and served as mayor of Purcell and Financial Secretary. He worked fot the Martin Oil Company, served on the Lexington Board of Education from 1952-62 and owned and operated a service station in Norman for a number of years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Purcell. Cobb died May 28, 1987 in the Norman Regional Hospital following an extended illness. He is survived by a daughter, Jo Evelyn Bland of Liberty, Missouri; a sister, Billie Hollis of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Cobb was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, and two sons, Jack and Steve. Pallbearers were Grady Henderson, Tim Ozment, Walter Thurston, Vernon Turner, Dick Bland and Edd Bland. Honorary bearers were Wilson Bell, Dr. Bill McCurdy, Maxwell McCurdy, Almer Lee Ellison, LeRoy Hawk, and Vernon Bass.
