All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== The Chickasha Express-Star 15 December 2004 OPAL IRENE COLE Opal Irene Cole was born February 9, 1917, in Madill, OK to Eli and Anna Mae Thompson. She grew up in the Blanchard area and attended school at Sunnyside. She married Bill Cole on October 6, 1934. They made their home in the Blanchard area until 1946, then moved to farm in Dimmitt, TX. They came back to farm in Verden, OK, in 1965, and eventually had to move to Chickasha due to failing health in 1978. Opal is survived by her four children, daughter Bronitta McKinney of Amarillo, TX, son Jim and Mary Cole of Russellville, AR, son David Cole and Geri Gwartney of Pryor, OK, and daughter Virginia and Rex Treadway of Blanchard, OK; granddaughter Shelly and Jerry McConnell, and great grandchildren Courtney and Joshua McConnell of Chickasha, OK. She is also survived by two sisters, Vertiline and Rogene Taylor of Alex, OK, and Willa Dean and Forrest Fish of Amarillo, TX; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren. Opal Cole was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, two sisters, one brother and one great grandson. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 17, 2004, at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blanchard. Reverend Johnny Wray will officiate with interment held in the Blanchard Cemetery.
