All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Altus Times 4 May 2004 Collette, Ethyl Nix Ethyl Nix Collette was the oldest of eight children born to Charley and Dovie Nix. She spent most of her working years as a nurse in California. Upon her retirement she returned to her native state of Oklahoma. She became very active in Purcell community activities. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Purcell, Farm and Home Extension Club and other civic organizations. She enjoyed reading, gardening, baking and needle work. She spent many hours quilting at the Purcell Citizen's Center. More than anything else, Ethyl loved family, friends and her dogs and cats. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe Collette, her brother Chester Nix, and her two sisters, Charla Sherman and Dorothy Nix Hanley. She is survived by one brother, Claud Nix and his wife Maria of Simi Valley, Calif. She is also survived by three sisters, Lois Canada of Altus, Cora Pillow of Chilicothe, Texas and Imogene Buckman and Husband Bob of Kansas City, Kan. Other survivors include six nephews and four nieces and numerous other relatives.
