(Dover) Gaston age 52 of Bakersfield, California passed into eternal life Friday, August 10, 2001 in Flagstaff, Arizona. She and her husband were on their way home from visiting family and friends in Oklahoma when Lillian suffered a heart attack near Flagstaff. She was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma on October 21, 1948. She was the 9th of 12 children born to John Dover and Esther Viola Madden Dover. Lillian grew up in the farming communities of McClain County and attended the Washington Schools. After high school she lived and worked in Oklahoma City for a number of years. There she met and later married Gene Gaston. They were married on June 20, 1977 and moved to Bakersfield, California. For 17 years she worked for the Panama School District in Bakersfield as a Cafeteria Manager. Lillian liked to collect dolls, go camping and travel with her husband to Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe. Lillian never had any children but had a dog she called Missy whom she loved very much. She will be remembered as a loving wife, sister, aunt and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Esther Viola Dover, sister, Lilly Laney, 5 infant siblings. She is survived by husband, Gene Gaston of Bakersfield; 2 stepsons, Ronnie and Victor Gaston both of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 step grandchildren; 2 sisters, Ann Heskett and her husband Herbert of McAlester, OK, Mearline Jones and her husband Jim Moore of Dibble, OK; 3 brothers, Richard Dover and his wife Susie of Buttonwillow, CA, Carl Dover of Oklahoma City, OK, Donnie Dover and his wife Alice of Purcell, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 15, 2001 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ivan Steinhour officiating. Interment will be at Washington Cemetery, Washington, Oklahoma. Pallbearers will be Dale Lewis, Donny Lewis, Dale Lewis, Jr., Richard Madden, Luther Jones, Jr., and Phillip Madden.
