Garrett, 78, died early Monday morning in the St. Joseph Medical Center, Ponca city, following a brief illness. she was a sister-in-law of Mrs. Pearl Ellis, Purcell, and had visited here on numerous occasions. Born at Purcell on Sept. 28, 1899, she was a daughter of Stephen and Josephine Boudreau. She attended the Purcell schools and was employed as a secretary here. On Jan. 8, 1920 she was married to Carl C. Garrett, who was employed by the Santa Fe railroad. They established a home in Purcell and he was later transferred to Cushing and in 1945 to Ponca City. At his retirement in 1965 he was the chief clerk to the Santa Fe agent in Ponca City. He died in 1972. Rosary service was to be held Wednesday evening at the Chapel of the Chimes, Grace Memorial Funeral Home, Ponca City. Mass will be held Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Ponca City. Graveside services will be at 3 o'clock that afternoon in Hillside cemetery, Purcell, with Father John O'Brien officiating. Mrs. Garrett is survived by two sons, Carl C. Jr. of LaJunta, Colo.; James R. of Sand Springs; a sister, Deania Dufran, Stockton, Colo.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
