Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Burial will be at Lexington Cemetery. Wilson-Little Funeral Home is handling arrangements. ========= Norman Transcript October 15, 2003 Walter Albert Hale Walter Albert Hale, 80, of Purcell died Saturday, Oct. 11, in Purcell. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell. Burial will be at Lexington Cemetery with Robert Pierson, the Rev. Stephen Hale and Brother Jay Hale officiating. Wilson-Little Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mr. Hale was born April 11, 1923, in Lockesburg, Ark., to Stephen Albert and Pet Little Hale. He served in the Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He received three bronze stars and a presidential citation. He married Jackie Blackburn Hale Dec. 29, 1949. He farmed and drove a truck in his earlier years. He worked most of his life in pipeline construction and engineering positions around the world. He completed his career as a vice president of Bechtel Corporation. Mr. Hale and his wife moved to Purcell in 1999. Mr. Hale is survived by his wife, Jackie Hale of the home; children, the Rev. Stephen Hale and wife, Jenny, of Lawton, Gayla Miner and husband, Lynn, of Brentwood, Calif., and Jay Hale of Purcell; sisters, Estellene Jesse and husband, Joe, of Broken Bow and Mary Armstrong and husband, Troy, of Valiant; sisters-in-law, Naomi Hale of Lockesburg and Kathryn Hale of Dallas; grandchildren, Lynn Miner Jr. of Concord, Calif., Haley Miner of Brentwood, Calif., Joel Miner of Portland, Ore., Scott Hale of Portland, Ragena Hale-Pelzer of Phoenix and Tyson, Christy, Janice, Preston and Cylie Hall-Hale, all of Lawton; great-grandchildren, Justin and Aubrey Pelzer of Phoenix; and many other family members and friends.
