All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Baldwin Memorial Cemetery--Robertsdale AL Halverson, Gus Louis Gus Louis Halverson, 96, died Monday, March 10, 2003 in Houston, Texas. Graveside services were held in Robertsdale, Alabama on March 14th at Baldwin Memorial Cemetery, Reverend Jeff Copeland officiated. Gus was born on September 12, 1906 in Maple Hill, Kansas. At the age of 9 he moved to Byars, Oklahoma with his family. He married Gladys Johnston in 1928. They ranched in McClain county for a number of years. She preceded him in death. In 1954 he was employed by McGraff Engineering Co. He moved to Gulf Shores Alabama to build telephone systems for Gulf Telephone Co. He married Mildred Anderson who preceded him in death. Gus retired in 1974 and he moved to Houston in 1992 where he resided until his death. He is survived by his daughter Peggy Cowsar, grandson Michael Cowsar, granddaughter Shauna Shaw, great grandchildren Amber Cowsar, Christopher Shaw, and Michael Wynn Cowsar, sister Marie Fisher of New York City, brother Ed Halverson of Ada Oklahoma, and numerous nephews and nieces.
