All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Amarillo Globe News 8 May 1997 Mary Katherine Hamilton PURCELL, Okla. - Mary Katherine Hamilton, 80, a former Hollis resident, died Monday, May 5, 1997. Services will be at 1 p.m. today in the Hollis Church of Christ with Mark Bradford officiating. Burial will be in the Independence Cemetery, 16 miles north of Hollis. Arrangements are by Little's Funeral Home. Mrs. Hamilton was born in Harmon County. She attended school in the Carl community near Hollis. She married Nathan Haskell Hamilton in 1936 and lived in southwest Oklahoma most of her life. She was a homemaker and worked on the farm with her husband. She also worked as a nurse many years at Jackson County Memorial Hospital at Altus. In 1988 she moved to Purcell. She was active in the home extension clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966. Survivors include three sons, Nathan Hamilton of Panhandle, Texas, Norman Hamilton of Kingston, and Darrell Hamilton of Purcell; two sisters, Mildred Hunter of Clinton and Nadine Minyard of Batesville, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to McClain County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/mcclain/mcclain.html
