Mr. Klopfensstein came to this country when he was 13 years of age, and spent his early life in Iowa. When 25 years of age he married Miss Sara Kirk, who preceded him in death 25 years ago. To this union five children were born, namely, Mrs. O.H. Creason, of Elk City, Okla., Walter Klopfenstein, now dead, Mrs. Rosa Walker, of Sedan, Kansas, Frank Klopfenstein, now dead, and Willie Klopfenstein. At the age of 41 years Mr. Klopfenstein affiliated with the Free Will Baptist church, living a consistant Church life. He came from the Chickasaw nation near Purcell, in a colony with O.H. Creason, and others, settling on a homestead with his wife named "Sunnyside," near Berlin, Oklahoma. After the death of his wife he continued to reside on this same homestead until December 1, 1928. Since that time he has lived with his son and daughter, who cared for him in his decling days. He died August 28, 1929, being 91 years, 6 months, and 22 days old. His wife and two sons preceded him in death, Frank Klopfenstein died in infancy, and Walter Klopfenstein at the age of 50 years at his home near Crescent City, Oklahoma.
