All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::IOOF Cemetery--Norman OK The Norman Transcript February 07, 2007 12:00 am Robert 'Bob' Otto Keeler Robert "Bob" Otto Keeler of Norman died Monday, Feb. 5, in Norman. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman, with the Rev. Steve Bredesen officiating. Burial will follow at Norman IOOF Cemetery in Norman. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Mr. Keeler was born April 25, 1933, in Criner, to Otto and Eula Basset Keeler. He grew up and attended school in Washington. At the age of 17 he joined the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. While in the service, he met and later married Elsie E. Kickery on July 31, 1954, in Interlaken, Mass. Mr. Keeler continued his military service as a flight mechanic and later became a training instructor, retiring in 1972 from the United States Air Force. He came to Norman in 1971 and attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating in 1980 with a degree in business administration. Following graduation he became an instructor for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1988. After retirement the Keelers traveled the U.S. or three years in their R.V., always spending the winters in Florida. Mr. Keeler enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, traveling, and was an avid OU fan. He was a member of Goodrich Memorial United Methodist Church in Norman, as well as the Moose and Elks clubs. Mr. Keeler was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Eula Keeler; son Darrell R. Keeler; and sister Helen Keeler Stephens. Survivors include his wife Elsie of the home; son Kevin R. Keeler and wife Pam of Haughton, La.; daughter Sherry L. McCurley and husband Steven of Miami; daughter-in-law Kay Keeler of Vilonia, Ark.; brother Marvin Keeler of Washington; three sisters, Winnie Farrow and husband Creed of Norman, Louise Webster and husband Joe of Norman and Carolyn Vaughn and husband Jack of Washington. He also is survived by seven grandchildren, Shawn Keeler, Jason Keeler, Geoffrey Keeler, Elizabeth McCurley, Adrienne Keeler, Tristan Keeler and Kevin R. Keeler Jr., and two great-grandchildren, Christian and Hayden Keeler. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 1 N.
