Langford, Joseph Douglas Joseph Douglas Langford was born August 10, 1921 in Blanchard, Oklahoma to Joseph Frederick and Bera Lillie (Richmond) Langford. He passed away March 31, 2004 at 82 years of age. Joe was a lifetime resident of Blanchard and graduated from high school in 1940. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Blanchard. He served in the Army and during World War II landed in Utah Beach during the Normandy Invasion of Europe with the 4th Infantry Division. He served in the following campaigns, Rhineland, Ardennes, Northern France, Heurtgen Forest and Central Europe. He retired from Tinker AFB in 1973. Joe enjoyed knife collecting, taking care of his wild turkeys, gardening and lawn work. He helped raise his two nephews, Mike and Vic. He took care of his mother and father when they needed him. He was a good, God fearing man who loved his family and his home town. Survivors include his grandson Justin Davis of Oklahoma City and his nephew Vic Gammill and his wife Sharon of Oklahoma City; his great nephews Steve and Tim Loiselle and great niece Susie Loiselle; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives Agnes and Mary Ellen; his daughter Linda Davis; sisters Juanita and Lavon; brother John Russell; nephew Mike Gammill and niece Jane. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2004 at the Blanchard Cemetery. Bro.
