Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church with Dr. Philip Fike officiating. Burial will be in Portales Cemetery by Wheeler Mortuary of Portales Inc. Mrs. Lanier was born in Elida before New Mexico became a state. In 1908, she moved to Criner, Okla., and after World War I, she moved to the Portales area. She attended Portales High School, graduating in 1926. She worked for Turner's Department Store for 24 years. She became a member of First Baptist Church shortly after World War I. She moved to Puyallup, Wash., in 1990. She married Arvel Lanier in 1933. He died in 1993.
