Services will be 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Purcell with Patrick Mead officiating. Burial will be at Lexington Cemetery. Wilson- Little Funeral Home in Purcell is handling arrangements. Mrs. Matthews was born June 29, 1925, in Washington, to Zachariah and Pearl Adams Dover. She grew up in Washington. She married Leonard Matthews May 17, 1996, in Washington. She worked for Purcell Public Schools in the 1960s and for the Purcell Dairy Queen in the 1970s and 80s. Mrs. Matthews is survived by her daughters, Wanda Mize and husband, Ray, of Whitesboro, Wilma Cooper and husband, Butch, of Noble and Sue Mize and husband, Ted, of Purcell; sons, Harold Matthews and wife, Carrie, of Noble and David Matthews of Purcell; sisters, Loraine Putman of Norman, Mary Guthrie of Purcell, Betty Bryant of Emporia, Kan., Dorothy Armstrong of Lawrence, Kan., and Elizabeth Wilson of Richland, Mich.; brother, Sonny Dover and wife, Alberta, of Lawrence, Kan.; sister-in-law, Emily Dover of Lawrence, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
