Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel in Purcell with the Rev. Buck Jordan officiating. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Cemetery east of Lexington. Wilson-Little Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mr. Matthews was born Dec. 12, 1939, in Purcell, to Andrew Jackson and Susie Holt Matthews. He married Joyce Marie Peltier June 10, 1960, in Purcell. They raised two children. Mr. Matthews was a cook for 10 years for the Oklahoma prison system. He also owned and operated several restaurants in Purcell, Lexington and Wanette. Mr. Matthews is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home; son, Mike Matthews and wife, Debbie, of Wanette; daughter, Elaine Golden of Lexington; brother, Ronnie Matthews of Guthrie; sister, Linda McGeehee and husband, Doyle, of Purcell; grandchildren, Melaine Matthews of Edmond and Chad Golden of Noble; step-grandsons, Michael and Chris Batterton; and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to McClain County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/mcclain/mcclain.html
