Corine was born in Wayne, Okla., on Nov. 25, 1931. She was the second child born to William and Fannie Belle Wheeler. The family moved to Southern California in the early 1940s. She married the love of her life, Nick, on Jan. 1, 1960, in Las Vegas, Nev. Corine was a resident of Ventura County for 33 years. In the past she was very active in the Democratic Party and was the campaign manager for Betty Mann. Her fondest memory of that period was having lunch with Rosalind Carter. An avid reader, Corine was one of the founding members of the Round Table West, a literary forum. Corine and her husband, Nick, took flying lessons and both received their pilot's licenses in 1972. They often took trips to Catalina Island and Las Vegas. She loved bingo and played often. She was a caller at Camarillo High School bingo and at the Camarillo Boys & Girls Club. She played at the Temple Etz Chaim in Thousand Oaks. Corine had a love of life and it was evident in her sense of humor and her laugh, she could be heard laughing across any room. She will be missed by all those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving brother, Gary. Corine is survived by her husband of 46 years, Nick; son, Michael; granddaughter, Robyn; great-grandchildren, Eric and Tamrah; nephews, Jef, Gary and Steve; niece, Debbie; and sister-in-law, Irene. Nick would like to thank everyone for all the cards and condolences he has received. They have helped more than words can express.
