Jimmie Ratliff, 86, pioneer resident of McClain county, died Tuesday morning at McCurdy Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health for several months. Tentative plans for the funeral service have been set for 10 a.m. on Friday morning of this week, Dec. 27, at the First Baptist church, Purcell. Rev. Wayne Pearson will officiate at the service and interment will be made in Hillside Cemetery under the direction of the Conner- Roberts funeral home. Born in Greer county, Texas, Ratliff came to this area before the turn of the century. He operated a store at Dibble for several years before building a large home on his farm near Walnut creek. He became an ordained minister at the Baptist church more than 40 years ago and later served one term as sheriff of McClain county. He also served several years as a deputy sheriff. He was a member of the Baptist church at Naples, Oklahoma. For the past few years following his retirement, he has lived at Lexington. He is survived by his wife, Frances, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Lottie Payne of Santa Clara, Calif., Mrs. John Myers, Pauls Valley, Mrs. Vera Reed, Oklahoma City, seven sons, Bronell of Purcell, Lloyd of Washington, Paul of Oklahoma City, Marvin of Watts, Ryan of El Reno, Aubrey of Edmond, and Bunk of Golden, Colorado. Also three sisters, Mrs. Lucy Perry, Shidler, Mrs. Callie Clark, Fairfax, and Mrs. Lottie Barnett, Roswell, N.
