All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== Suchy, Willie Mitchell "Mike" Willie Mitchell 'Mike' Suchy, 87, passed away January 8, 2003 at his home in Oklahoma City. He was born December 6, 1915 in Lexington, OK to John and Dessie (Odom) Suchy. He graduated from Sulfur High School in 1932. He married Virgie Franks June 1, 1935 in Pauls Valley, OK. Two daughters were born from that union. Later the family moved to Norman, OK where he owned and operated a garage. His marriage to Ava Pool took place December 23, 1955 in Oklahoma City. Mike worked at Suchy's Transmission and retired at the young age of 65. He enjoyed finding various old clocks at garage sales and when he wasn't working on the clocks, you could usually find him at his favorite spot, the Washita River, where he enjoyed his favorite sport fishing. Mike belonged to the NAWCC for many many years. He was truly a beloved husband of 47 years to Ava. He enjoyed his little four-legged companion, McKayla. He loved all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mike had many friends, old and new, as well as many acquaintances. 'Mike Suchy has gone fishing. 'Mike is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, and brother, W. George 'Pat' Suchy. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ava, of the home; sister, Bonnie Jo Cocchiaraley, of Longboat Key, Florida; two daughters, Betty McElderry and husband Neil, of Purcell, and Janet Tetrick and husband Dwight, of Lutz, Florida; step children, Harley 'Gene' Sinks, of Thayer, KS, Carroll Jones and husband Charlie, of Denison, TX, and Don Sinks, of OKC; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 11, 2003, at Bill Merritt Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
