A private memorial service was held Aug. 31 at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fay R. Sasser Scholarship Fund, c/o Multnomah Athletic Club, Attn.: Steve Tidrick, CCM, 1849 S.W. Salmon St., Portland, OR 97207-0390. She was born Feb. 21, 1913, in Purcell, Okla., to William and Gertrud Biggerstaff. She was married to Thomas S. Sasser for 52 years. He died in 1978. Mrs. Sasser was an employee of the Multnomah Athletic Club in Portland for 44 years, and was well-known at her position as receptionist for the club. She retired in 1996 and at that time a scholarship was set up in her name to help Mac Club employees and their families. She moved to the Rogue Valley in 1996 from Portland. Survivors include three daughters, Gloria E. Christian, Jane K. Schacher and Judith F. Lyon; 10 grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas C. Sasser. Arrangements: Perl Funeral Home, Medford.
