All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::Resthaven Memory Gardens--OKC OK Shores, Cora Elizabeth Funeral service for Cora Elizabeth Shores, age 96 of Newcastle, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 23, 2002, at the Disciple Christian Church. Rev. Larry Bishop, pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Resthaven Cemetery, Oklahoma City, under direction of the Binyon Funeral Home of Blanchard. She was born the daughter of Zoella Poe Watkins and Joseph Willits Watkins on January 14, 1906, at Potwin, Kansas. Cora died Saturday, December 21, 2002, at Oklahoma City. Cora married Joseph Henry Shores on June 12, 1926, at Potwin Kansas. She was a native of Potwin where she graduated from Potwin High School. Cora lived in Oklahoma City for many years and worked at Emmer Brothers Department Store. While in Oklahoma City she was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She moved to Newcastle in 1970. Cora was a member of the Disciple Christian Church of Newcastle. Cora was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers. Her husband, Joseph, died on August 30, 1955. She was also preceded in death by two sons Joseph Daniel Shores and Thomas Roger Shores. Survivors include son Gary and his wife Virginia Shores of Newcastle; daughters-in-law, Boots Shores, Mustang & Shirley Shores, OKC; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
