All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ========================================================================== ::?--Goldthwaite TX Norman Transcript October 6, 2003 John Fisher Wigley Jr. John Fisher Wigley Jr., 63, of Purcell died Saturday, Oct. 4, in Lexington. Private services will be held in Goldthwaite, Texas. The Wilson-Little Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Mr. Wigley was born Oct. 19, 1939, in Goldthwaite, one of five children born to John Fisher Wigley Sr. and Effie Mae Askew. He grew up in Goldthwaite, where he also attended school. After high school, Mr. Wigley attended the University of North Texas and later began a career in insurance. He lived most of his life in Texas and moved to Purcell this past year to be close to his daughters. He worked nearly 25 years as a claims manager of the Fireman Fund Insurance Company. Throughout Mr. Wigley’s life, he enjoyed being outdoors where he could hunt and camp. He was an avid reader and enjoyed reading about world history and American history. Mr. Wigley was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Coleta Fay Duran. He is survived by his daughters, Lori Taylor of Purcell and Heather Buckhalter and her husband, Mark, of Purcell; grandchildren, Kaylin and Evan Taylor; an ex-wife, Karen Wigley of Purcell; a brother, Jimmy Wigley and his wife, Judy, of Goldthwaite; sisters, June Scruggs of Hubbard, Texas, and Joyce Bell and her husband, Herb, of Goldthwaite; in-laws, Sam and Patricia Dean of Lexington; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to McClain County Archives: http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/mcclain/mcclain.html
