Wear Eddie B. Wear, 74, of Washington died early Saturday morning, Sept. 27, in Norman. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Washington with Dr. Ken Williams and Darrin Wear officiating. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell. Wilson-Little Funeral Home in Purcell is handling arrangements. Mr. Wear was born June 27, 1929, in Allen, the second of five sons born to William Ernest Wear and Edna Alma Jackson Wear. He grew up in southwest Oklahoma where his family farmed. He married Delta Freeze from Mountain View. At 23, Mr. Wear was drafted into the U.S. Army and served two years during the Korean Conflict. After he was honorably discharged in 1954, the Wears made their home in Oklahoma City for nearly 20 years. They also lived in Harrah for three years before moving to Washington in 1977. Mr. Wear worked as a mechanic on heavy equipment most of his life, retiring in 1991. In his younger years he liked to water ski with his family and liked to fish. He also enjoyed gardening, planting trees and making bird houses. Because of his declining health he had been a resident of the Norman VA Center for the past six and a half years. Mr. Wear was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edna Wear, and his brother, Clyde Wear. He is survived by his wife, Delta, of the home; his son, Darrin Wear and wife, Debbie, of Washington; a daughter, Denise Deal and her husband, Darrel, of Harrah; three brothers, Eugene Wear and his wife, Letha, of Seminole, Floyd Wear of Ada and Jerry Wear and his wife, Charlotte, of Ada; three grandchildren, Jason Deal, Ryan Deal and Kati Wear; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bearers will be Darrel, Jason and Ryan Deal, Randy Fox, Kim Freeze and Robert Ward III.
