The contracting parties being Mr. E. J. Boudreau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Boudreau of this place and Miss Nelda Cardinal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raphael Cardinal of Maysville. The nuptial mass ceremony was used in solemnizing the marriage rite, Rev. Father Wilwerding officiating. The groom was escorted by the bride's brother and the sister of the groom acted in like capacity for the bride. The immediate relatives of the contracting parties witnessed the ceremony. The bride was becomingly attired in a blue serge gown. The groom wore the conventional black. The newly wedded couple was tendered a wedding dinner at the home of the groom's parents. In the afternoon they went to Maysville, were a big supper will be served by the bride's parents, in honor of the event. Purcell will be their future home. The Republic joins in wishing the happy couple much joy and happiness. The Purcell Republic - January 12, 1911 Gridell - Boudreau Mr. Charles B. Gridell of Forest City, Ark., and Miss Marie D. Boudreau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Boudreau, were united in the holy bonds of wedlock, Monday morning at 8 o'clock, in the Catholic church in this city. Rev. Father Mutsaers of Oklahoma City officiating, using the nuptial mass ceremony. The immediate relatives of the bride and several invited guests witnessed the ceremony. The bride was attired in a beautiful white Mohair gown and wore a veil to match. The bridegroom wore the conventional black. The bridesmaid was Miss Nelda Cardinal, of Maysville and Mr. E.J. Boudreau, brother of the bride, served as best man. A wedding dinner was tendered the newly wedded couple at the family home of the bride's parents Monday. They departed Tuesday evening for Forest City, Ark., which place they expect to make their future home. The bride is well and favorably known, having spent the greater part of her girlhood days in this vicinity. The bridegroom is progressive and no doubt will be an excellent protector, along life's journey, for the one whom he has chosen. The Republic joins their many friends in wishing them a joyous hereafter. The Purcell Register, Thursday, March 12, 1936 Rimmer-Cardinal Vows Are Announced A wedding of considerable interest to Wayne and Purcell people, due to the prominence of the bride and groom, was that of Miss Callie Rimmer of Wayne to Mr. Albert Cardinal of Purcell, which was solemnized here Friday afternoon of last week with Rev. W.L. Anderson reading the marriage vows. The bride is the daughter of Mr. Ed Rimmer of Wayne and has many friends there, where she has resided for a number of years. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cardinal of Purcell and has many friends here. Their many friends extend them the best of wishes. The Purcell Register, February 8, 1951 Anthony-Boudreau Nuptials Exchanged The wedding of Miss Patricia Lea Anthony, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Anthony, Blanchard, and Bill Boudreau, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emile Boudreau, was solemnized in Our Lady of Victory church, Monday, Feb. 5. Father O.A. Murphy performed the ceremony before a background of white snapdragons, gladiolas, and seven branch candelabras. The pews were marked with white satin ribbons. Sister Marie played a program of nuptial music and the traditional wedding marches. She also accompanied the choir selection, "Ava Marie." The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore an off white satin dress with a nylon yoke, high neckline, and fitted bodice. The full gathered skirt ended in a fan shaped train. On her head she wore a two-tier fingertip veil of illusion and carried a prayer book topped with an orchid and white streamers. Miss Juanita Jo Ritchey, Blanchard, was maid of honor. She wore a pink satin ankle length dress. Her corsage was of white gardenias. Candlelighters were Steve Cardinal and Mark Wallace, Purcell. Fred Ozment jr. served as best man. Ushers were Bob Garrett and John Mahoney, both of Oklahoma City. A breakfast complimented the couple in the home of the bride-groom's parents. Father Fulton of Oklahoma City and Fred Ozment jr. were guests. After the wedding, a dinner was served in the City café private banquet hall. Twenty-two guests were present. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Anthony honored the newlyweds with a reception in their home. Following a wedding trip, the couple will be at home in Oklahoma City. The Purcell Register, September 23, 1943 Miss Cardinal Is Bride Of Cpl. L.C. Powell The marriage of Miss Helen Cardinal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Cardinal, Purcell and Cpl. Leon C. Powell, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.B. Powell, Purcell, was solemnized Tuesday when Judge P.J. Theil read the marriage service. Miss Helen Arnold and Mrs. Mildred McLeary, Oklahoma City were attendants for the couple. They wore navy blue suits with pink and black accessories. The bride wore a heather suit with navy accessories. Mrs. Powell attended Purcell high school and is at the present time employed at the Douglas plant in Oklahoma City. Cpl. Powell is stationed in Salt Lake City, Utah, with the U.S. army. The Purcell Register - January 13, 1898 Mr. M. Bonneau and Miss Lilly Boudreau were married at the Catholic church last Tuesday morning at eight o'clock, Father William officiating. The bride is a sister to Mr. Paul Boudreau and a charming young lady of many winning qualities, while the groom is one of our young business men and liked and respected by all. A big dinner and a dance at night celebrated the happy event and all the friends of the contracting parties enjoyed themselves heartily. We extend best wishes for the felicitous life of the parties. The Purcell Register - January 19, 1911 Another Happy Young Couple On Wednesday morning, January 18, at ten o'clock by and at the residence of Rev. Father Wilwerdring, priest in charge of the Catholic Church here, Mr. Medis Boudreau, of this place, and Miss Irene Sandusky, of Lexington, were united in marriage. They were attended by Mr. Leo Moissant and Miss Carrie Boudreau, a sister of the groom, and the ceremony was witnessed by a few intimate friends of the contracting parties. A dinner was given at the home of the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Boudreau, which was attended by the members of the families, and a supper at the same place in the evening was largely attended by relatives and friends, concluding with a merry dance, at the residence of the newly mated couple, just north of the paternal home, which the groom has recently had built and nicely furnished for the reception of his bride. The young people start on their journey in double harness with the best wishes of all. The Purcell Register - November 20, 1903 Married - At Catholic church, on Monday morning, November 16, by Rev. Father William, Mr. John R. Cardinal, Jr. and Miss Ida Boudreau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Boudreau. A fine supper was given the happy couple on Monday evening at the home of the groom's father, Mr. John Cardinal, of which more than one hundred guests partook. Every good thing to eat was most bountifully provided, a general good time prevailed and all enjoyed the affair immensely. Numerous nice presents were bestowed upon the bride and groom. We join in the hearty congratulations being so freely offered. The Purcell Register - November 6, 1903 Price-Boudreau At the Catholic church on Wednesday morning, Nov. 4, Father William spoke the words that bound in matrimonial union Mr. John Price and Miss Minnie Boudreau. The groom is one of our rising young business men, one of the proprietors of the Canadian avenue restaurant. The bride is the daughter Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Boudreau. Both have hosts of warm friends and fully deserve the many kind words of congratulation that have been given and in which we most heartily join. A glorious dinner was given the young couple and a few intimate friends at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E.M. Price, the parents of the groom, and two as good people as ever walked on this old earth. The table was well filled with a substantial feast, such as only a famous housewife like Mother Price can prepare, the cakes and other dishes being beautifully garnished with green follage. All present greatly enjoyed the feast, and the Register man, who was prevented by sickness from being there, was sent a goodly supply of the good things, which deepened his regret at not being able to be on hand, but filled him with pleasure - and cake - because of the kind remembrance. At night a dance was given at the home of the bride's parents, where the young people made merry until a late hour. A dinner was also given at the same place on Thursday. After this round of pleasure Mr. and Mrs. Price have settled down to house-keeping in the house on Jefferson street, formerly occupied by Mr. Wm. High, now the property of Father William. The Purcell Register - November 20, 1924 Bonneau - Shields The wedding of Mr. Albert Bonneau and Miss Benita Shields of Enid, Oklahoma was solmenized in Oklahoma City, Wednesday evening. After a short trip the newly weds will be at home in Purcell. The bride is a charming young lady who made many friends here during a visit with her sister, Mrs. G.E. Smith. The groom has grown to young manhood here, the son of M. Bonneau. He is connected with the Bonneau Brothers furniture store and has a host of friends. The Register joins in extending congratulations to the young couple. The Purcell Register - April 18, 1929 Boudreau - Harkins On last Sunday at the home of Father Van Gastel Mr. Andrew Boudreau and Miss Ruby Mae Harkins were united in marriage. Mr. and Mrs. Boudreau are now making their home at the Homer Boudreau residence where they have rooms. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Sam Huskey of Purcell and is well known here having been reared in this city. The groom is the son of John Boudreau and has been employed for a number of years at the McElderry Grocery. He too has been reared in Purcell. The Register together with their many friends wish this young couple many years of happiness. The Purcell Register - Jan 22, 1931 Marriage Licenses Recently Issued Leo Cardinal, 23, Purcell, and Miss Jewel Guess, 18, Purcell. The Purcell Register - November 8, 1903 Mr. Joe Marcus and Miss Annie Boudreau were married at the Catholic Church on Tuesday morning, Father William officiating. Both the young people are well known, the bride being a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Boudreau, and many good wishes are extended to them. The Purcell Register - December 28, 1916 Christmas License Business Good L.F. Boudreau, 24 and Emma Edwards, 19, both of Purcell. EDWARDS - BOUDREAU On Tuesday evening, December 26th, 1916, Miss Emma Edwards and Mr. Louis Boudreau were united in marriage at the Catholic church, the Rev. Father Van Wees performing the ceremony that made them man and wife. Only immediate relatives and intimate friends were present at the marriage. The bride is a charming young lady recently connected with the store of Austin Beaver. She is a daughter of Mr. Will Edwards. She has a wide circle of friends to wish her every happiness. The groom is an energetic young man of good habits. He is a son of Mr. Steve Boudreau and is connected with the Wells Fargo force here. The Register joins in extending congratulations to this worthy young couple. The Purcell Register - October 5, 1911 Wedding James O. Lewis and Miss Denia Boudreau, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Boudreau, was united in marriage, Wednesday evening at the home of Rev. P.I. Wilwerding, of the Catholic church, who performed the ceremony. Mr. Lewis has been connected with Bell's tonsorial parlor for several months and is well liked. The bride is a great favorite among her acquaintances. The Purcell Register - July 4, 1935 Duffy-Marquis Vows Solemnized Sunday The wedding of Miss Mary Jane Duffy and Mr. Leo Marquis was quietly solemnized at the Catholic church Sunday afternoon, June 28, at three o'clock. The marriage vows were given by Father Nic Schmitt. Miss Ethel Marquis, sister of the bridegroom, and Mr. Joseph Boudreau were the only attendants. Mrs. Marquis is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eph Duffy of Lexington. She was a graduate of the Lexington highschool. Mr. Marquis attended the Catholic school in Purcell.
