My aunt's parents, Sadie(?) and Sam Hopper are buried in this cemetery with a very large noticeable marker. Just wondering how this got overlooked. Also, some of the "ROCKS" in the Old Smithville Cemetery designate where the following is buried: (1) My paternal grandfather: Sherman "Grandpa" Stephens, b. Apr. 2, ~1868; d. Sep. 1938, was living at Smithville with Cotton and Doris Hopper at the time of his passing (near the old Hopper homeplace where Ben Jr. and wife now live). Sherman's wife and my grandmother, Sally Stephens is buried in the Pickens Cemetery at Pickens, OK. I think it has been canvassed, but not on-line yet. (2) My first cousin and the oldest daughter of Elsie Ann Charlton and Marvin Carnathan: Ethel May Carnathan Coursey, b. Feb. 21, 1913; d. Jul. 15, 1932. Ethel May died from childbirth complications and her parents raised the son she had. (3) My first cousin and a son of Elsie Ann Charlton and Marvin Carnathan: Ralph Ray "Little Pedro" Carnathan, b. 1929; d. 1932.
