All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== McCurtain County Local Newspaper: 1925 MONTIE SCRIBNER KILLED AT GLOVER BY WESLEY LUSTER LAST SATURDAY -- FIGHT BEGAN OVER HORSE SHOE PITCHING GAME. Montie Scribner was killed near Glover, Saturday, May 30, by Wesley Luster, 17-year-old boy, over a game of horse shoe pitching. Luster was running from Scribner and shot back over his shoulder. The ball entered Scribner's neck, severing the jugular vein and breaking his neck. Luster was placed in jail, the preliminary trial was held at Idabel, Wednesday, with Paul C. Thorn, of this city, representing Luster. He was acquitted.
