Bafford, a colored teacher in the Broken Bow Negro schools, for the past two years, and a sister of C.F. Hughes, colored principal here, died after a short illness. She was prominent in the community work of her people, and has taught successfully in the colored schools of McCurtain county for several years. She was a bright, efficient teacher who will be greatly missed from her accustomed place in both public and social life. She has many friends among the white people wherever she lived, and was a special favorite in colored circles. Both her white and colored friends regret to learn of her death. The remains were shipped to her former home in Mississippi for interment, being accompanied by her brother C.F. Hughes. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to McCurtain Archives http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/mccurtain/mccurtai.htm
