Baker-Baker Services Will be Sunday Newspaper: McCurtain Gazette Idabel, Oklahoma Dated: February 17, 1989 Friday Emmit L. Baker, 87, of Garvin, died Thursday (February 16, 1989) at McCurtain Memorial hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the First Assembly of God Church of Valliant with the rev. Paul Wilds officiating. Burial will be in the Valliant Cemetery under the direction of Coffey-Leonard Funeral Home. Born April 8, 1901 in Wills Point, Texas, Baker had lived most of his life in McCurtain County. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie, on March 21, 1985, and a son Hurshell, in March 1987.
