Baker 1976 "Services for Baker pending" James R. Baker, 58, died Tuesday at his home in Broken Bow. Born Oct. 24, 1918, at Battiest (then Ida), he had lived in McCurtain County all of his life. He was a retired Methodist minister and a retired employee of the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA). Surviving are his wife, Catherine of the home; two daughters, Sharon Jefferson and Patricia Harley, both of Broken Bow; six brothers, Anderson Winship and Walter Baker of Broken Bow, Daniel, Aaron and Floyd Baker, all of Battiest, and Owen Baker of LaTuna, Tex., two sisters, Gladys Wade of Talihina and Edith Gem of Long Beach, Cal., and three grandchildren.
