Obituary: Tuesday February 14, 1971, McCurtain Gazette, Idabel, 
Oklahoma p. 5 col. 8                      

= Verda Batchelor =       

Verda Faye Batchelor, 37, Glover, died at 4:13 p.m. Sunday, February 
14, in the McCurtain Memorial hospital in Idabel.       

Born May 8, 1933, in Glover she had been a resident of that community 
all of her life.  

She was a member of the Baptist church.      

Survivors include her husband, Arvie Joe Batchelor of Glover; two 
sons, Roger Allen and Richard Batchelor of Glover; one daughter, 
Tammy Jo Batchelor of Glover; one step son; Arvin Lynn Batchelor of 
Winslow, Ariz.; one step daughter, Mrs. Martha Ann Joyce of Lawton; 
her mother, Mrs. Rose Jackson of Broken Bow; six brothers, F.E. and 
Bill Jackson of Glover, Virgil, Chester and Nemole Jackson of Wright 
City and Lawrence Jackson of Idabel; three sisters, Mrs. Carrie 
Batchelor of Smithville, Mrs. Velma Batchelor of Glover, Mrs. Doris 
Steele of Broken Bow, and one grandchild.     

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, in the 
Glover Community building, with the Rev. Thomas Cockerham 
officiating.     

Arrangements and burial in the Glover Cemetery were under the 
direction of Norwood-Welch Funeral Home.
