All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Greenlawn Southwest Cemetery--Bakersfield CA Bumpurs, Robert Lynn Robert Lynn Bumpurs Dec. 23, 1922 - Apr. 28, 2007 Greenlawn Southwest Mortuary A memorial chapel service will be held, Friday, May 4th, at 3:00 p.m., in Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 1401 S. Grand Ave., Glendora, California. Visitation will be held during the service in Oakdale Memorial Chapel. Robert was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on December 23, 1922, and passed away in Bakersfield, California on April 28, 2007. He was raised in Idabel, Oklahoma and moved back to Wichita Falls, TX, where he met and married his wife of 59 years, Betty June Blackshear; he raised his three children who were all born in Wichita Falls. Robert served in the Army in WWII. He worked for his father in a bakery making donuts for 17 years. He moved to California, in 1960, where he continued his career in baking at Vons Bakery in El Monte, California; he retired to Bakersfield in 1987. Robert enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching western movies, fishing, and gardening. He is survived by his son, Phillip W. Bumpurs of Bakersfield; daughters and their spouses, Janet and Mike Callahan of Utah, and Janice and Donnie Hobbs of Bakersfield; six grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Robert is also survived by his sister, Willodean Ashbrook of Wichita Falls, TX. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Betty June Bumpurs; and grandson, Phillip Scott Bumpurs.
