All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Memory Gardens Cemetery--Amarillo TX Amarillo Globe News 24 Jun 1997 Miles Colbert Sr. PAMPA - Miles Colbert Sr., 96, died Saturday, June 21, 1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Open Door Church of God in Christ with the Rev. Hubert Kelly, pastor, and the Rev. Carter Smith of Amarillo officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Colbert was born in Idabel, Okla. He moved to Pampa in 1959 from Mangum, Okla. He married Allene Templeton in 1925 at Idabel. She died in 1995. He also was preceded in death by two sons, Aaron Colbert in 1987 and John Colbert in 1972. Mr. Colbert was employed by Palmer Chevrolet in Mangum for many years. He was a custodian for Carver School and Coronado Hospital in Pampa for several years. He was a member, deacon and superintendent of Sunday school at Open Door Church of God in Christ. Survivors include a son, Miles Colbert Jr. of Amarillo; five daughters, Laverne Crenshaw and Ontario Miller, both of San Diego, Jewel Adams of Denver, Loretta Watie of Baytown and Helen Stone of Pampa; a sister, Johnnie Green of Sacramento, Calif.; 17 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; and two great-great- grandchildren. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Return to McCurtain Archives http://www.usgwarchives.net/ok/mccurtain/mccurtai.htm
