C. COLE PASSED AWAY TUESDAY V.C. Cole, of Broken Bow, passed away Tuesday at 11:40 a.m., after an extended illness. For the last two months he was confined to his home and his death was not unexpected. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist Tabernacle, and were conducted by Rev. A.R. Luton, pastor. Burial followed in the Broken Bow cemetery. Mr. Cole was born on May 28th, 1862 at Riverside, Ky. He moved to Nevada County, Arkansas, and resided there until he came to Broken Bow in December, 1911, where he has resided since. He was a carpenter by trade and helped to build many of the homes in this city. He was considered one of the best men in this section and was liked by every one. The writer has known him for several years, and he has known no more honorable men. Mr. Cole is survived by his wife; one son, Ira Cole, of Hugo, and five daughters, Mrs. Zula House, Mount Vernon, Texas; Mrs. C.O. Smith of Big Springs, Texas; Mrs. Henry Lemley, Mrs. J.B. Harless and Mrs. Sam Richards, of Broken Bow, all of whom were present at the funeral except Mrs. Smith, who was unable to attend.
