Born March 28, 1910 in Idabel, she had lived in this community all of her life. She was a memaber of the Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Leslie; one son, Jimmy of Oklahoma City; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Bittner and Mrs. Venita Shannon of Oklahoma City and Mrs. Velesta Brown of Odessa, Tex.; four brothers, Ishmael, Bill ahd Lester Hamilton of Idabel and Julius Hamilton of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Edna Freeman and Faye Pugh of Idabel; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Idabel Norwood- Welch Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Earl Mooney, assisted by the Rev. Jim Brown, Officiating. Arrangements and burial in the Denison cemetery were under the direction of Norwood-Welch Funeral Home. ========= Obituary: Mrs. Thelma Mae Cooke Newsclipping: hand dated Aug. 28, 1973 Mrs. Thelma Mae Cooke, 63, of Idabel died Friday, August 24, 1973 in Oklahoma City. Services were at 2 p.m. Snday, August 26, 1973, at the Norwood-Welch Chapel with the Rev. Earl Mooney and the Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Burial was in the Denison Cemetery. Mrs. Cooke was born March 28, 1910, in Idabel and was a member of the Missionary Baptist church. Survivors include her husband, Leslie cooke; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Bittnea and Mrs. Venith Shannon, both of Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Velesta Brown of Odessa, Texas; four brothers, Ishmael Hamilton, Bill Hamilton and Lester Hamilton, all of Idabel, and Julius Hamilton of Oklahoma City; eight grandchildren and a great grandchild.
