Jewell (Whitten) Davies

Davies Services Slated Saturday

Jewell (Whitten) Davies of Port Orchard, Wash., died June 17 at 
Harrison Memorial Hospital near her home.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel 
of Brumley-McCurtain Funeral Home in Broken Bow. All family and 
friends are invited to attend. Private interment will be in Holly 
Creek Cemetery following the memorial tribute.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Cancer 
Society, or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Born July 31, 1927, in a small rural community near Idabel in 
McCurtain County, Jewell and the Whitten family moved to Broken Bow 
when she was very young. She attended the local schools, elementary as 
well as high school. She moved to the Puget Sound area in washington 
state in the early '50's, and on July 10, 1953, was married to Darby 
Davies.

She is survived by her husband, Darby; two sons, Ron and Alan; a 
daughter, Gail; one brother, Wayne; and a sister, Grace. She also had 
a son, James, who preceded her in death in 1972. She leaves nine 
grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and 
nephews.
