All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Moran Cemetery--Valliant OK Obituary: Gilbert DONALDSON Newspaper: McCurtain Daily Gazette, Idabel, Oklahoma Dated: Friday, May 14, 2004 = DONALDSON RITES SET SUNDAY = Gilbert 'Slim' Donaldson, 81, Garvin, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2004, at Paris, Texas. He was born Dec 3, 1922, in the Slim Community, son of Charlie and Nora Kizer Donaldson. Gilbert was a retired carpenter and was affiliated with the Assemblies of God. He loved cockfighting, hunting and fishing, and was a lifetime McCurtain County resident. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Albert Donaldson. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, James and Pat Donaldson, and Cecil and Sharlette Donaldson, Holly Creek community: his daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Roger Freeman, Idabel, and Kathy and Brian Holen, Valliant; 11 grand children and 24 great- grandchildren ; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a host of friends. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2004, in Moran Cemetery with Bro. Doug Clements officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Norwood-Coffey-Leonard Funeral Home, Idabel.
