Obituary: Augustine 'Hough' Epley Submitted: September 2005 EPPLEY SERVICES ARE CONDUCTED Stanton,Texas -- Augustine Hough Epley, 76, of Stanton, died Feb. 2 (1989) at her residence following a lengthy illness. Services were held Saturday at the First Baptist Church, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home. Mrs. Epley was born Feb. 13, 1912 in Broken Bow, and had been a resident of Stanton for 38 years. She was married to J. C. "Snooks" Epley Nov. 13, 1943 in Big Spring. Mrs. Epley was a school teacher for 25 years before her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church , a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Martin County Artists. Survivors include her husband of Stanton, son son, Jim Epley, of Stanton; two daughters, Joanna McMahan of Garland and Mona Baker of Dallas; a sister, Bessie Grigory of Broken Bow; two brothers, Joe Hough of Broken Bow and John Hough of Tulsa; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Hough. Family suggest memorials be made to the Martin County Library.
