He passed away at home surrounded by his loving family. Roy came to California in the early 40's. He was a farmer most of his life, farming in the Arvin, Edison area. He also founded Pike Records where a hit record went to #2 on KUZZ Radio in the 60's. He was also a great storyteller. He was a dedicated Jehovah's Witness for 67 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Auther and Myrtle Flowers; 5 sisters;, 3 brothers. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Vancie; 2 daughters, Leola and husband, Arnold Weld of Albany, OR, and Peggy and husband, Ben Royal of Bakersfield; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Reba Hatchridge and Norma Graham; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held Friday 5 p.m. - 8 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Basham Funeral Care, 3312 Niles St. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 4th, 3:00 p.m., at the Assembly Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 5501 Brundage Lane, #D hall, Bakersfield, CA 93306. He will be missed Dearly by all who knew him.
