McCurtain County Local Newspaper: Aug. 20, 1925

MRS. NEWT GORDON DIED VERY SUDDENLY AT HER HOME LAST FRIDAY MORNING 
-- WAS BURIED SUNDAY.

Mrs. Newt Gordon, aged about 80 years, died quite suddenly at her 
home, four miles north-west of this city, Friday morning, August 
14th.  She was apparently in good health, and had visited at the home 
of her grandson in the same community, that morning.  When she 
returned to her home, she had lain down for a few minutes rest, and 
later, relatives discovered that she was dead.  Her death was a great 
shock to her family and friends.

The body was laid to rest in the Sweet Home cemetery Sunday.

Deceased is survived by a husband, two sons and three daughters, 
besides a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
