OBITUARY: JOHN CYLE HARKEY

Dated: Wed. 8-6-1980

Newspaper: McCurtain Gazette, Idabel, Oklahoma.   

CYLE HARKEY   

John Cyle Harkey, 67, of Broken Bow, died July 31, 1980 at Wadley 
Hospital in Texarkana.   

Harkey, born February 2, 1913 in Bryans Mill, Texas was a rancher and 
had lived in the area all his life. 

He was a member of the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist Church.   

Reverend Euell Wright assisted by Cletus Hawkins conducted funeral 
services at 10 a.m., August 2 at the Holly Creek Missionary Baptist 
Church.  Burial was at the Watson Cemetery at Oak Hill.   

Survivors include his wife, Annie Lee, of the home; three sons, Lee 
Ancel, Norris, and Wendell Harkey, all of Broken Bow; a daughter, 
Ivadell Plemmons of Battiest; a brother, Clement Harkey of Broken 
Bow; one sister, Nancy Ledsworth, Broken Bow; and eleven 
grandchildren.    

Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Norwood-Welch 
Funeral Home of Broken Bow.
