S.P. HELTON WAS FATALLY INJURED THURSDAY _______ OF LAST WEEK WHEN HE STEPPED FROM FORD CAR NEAR MOUNTAIN FORK BRIDGE. Rev. S.P. Helton, aged 51 years, of Bethel, was accidently killed, Thursday afternoon, July 2, about 2:30. He, accompanied by Rev. A.A. Feamster, of Bethel; G.B. Bates and wife, of Golden, and J.M. Newman, of Wayne Okla., was on his way to Mena, Ark., to attend a revival meeting. They were in a Ford car driven by Rev. Feamster when Rev. Helton's hat blew out of his hand. The driver slowed down and pulled to one side of the road, but had not come to a full stop when Helton stepped out of the car, falling and crushing his skull. He never spoke a word after the accident. He was brought to the Broken Bow hospital, where he died Thursday night about 10:00p.m. The remains were buried at Ida, Sunday at 11:00a.m., funeral being conducted by Rev. Feamster.
