Irons Services Are Today
 
Maye E. Irons, 97, of Idabel, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at Idabel. She was 
born May 13, 1902 at Molina, Georgia.

Irons had lived most of her life in McCurtain County. She was a retired school 
teacher, having taught in McCurtain County, Choctaw County and South Texas. She 
was of the Protestant faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents J. M. and Virginia Williamson McLeod, 
and a brother J. B. McLeod Sr.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Greer of Blossom, Texas, a brother Aubrey 
McLeod of Idabel, three sisters, Belle Shawhart, Dorothy Jones, both of Dallas, 
Texas and Bernice Hamilton of Rockwall, Texas; one grandson, Randy Greer of 
Houston, Texas; two great-grandsons, Michael Greer of Midway, Texas and Jared 
Greer of Wichita, Kan.; and one great-granddaughter, Katherine Greer of 
Sulligent, Ala.

Graveside services were at noon today at Denison Cemetery, Idabel. 
The Rev. Charles Ray officiated. Arrangements with Norwood-Leonard Funeral 
Home Idabel.
