All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::City Cemetery--Broken Bow OK McCurtain County Local Newspaper: Feb. 22, 1924 JOSEPH JACKSON DEAD Joseph Jackson, who for the past two years has run the Broadway Meat Market in Broken Bow, died Saturday night at his room at the Arlington Hotel of pneumonia and euramic poisoning. He had been ill about ten days. Mr. Jackson was of English descent and so far as is known had no relatives in this country. He was an exceptionally big hearted old man, and most of his earnings were given to the poor. It is said by those who knew him well that he never allowed any case of destitution that came to his attention go without being cared for. For this reason he had very little money left when he died. A.W. Leuty of Broken Bow has been appointed administrator for his leavings and will wind up what little he left. At the time of his death he was around 70 years of age.
