All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::NOT LISTED McCurtain County Local Newspaper: March 30, 1933 AGED SWEET HOME CITIZEN PASSES AWAY Jim Lackey, who resided in the Sweet Home Community, died Sunday March 19 at the ripe old age of 76. Mr. Lackey, known to all of his neighbors as "Uncle Jim," survived his wife by less than four years, she having died four years ago in June. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist church of which he had been a member for over fifty years. "Uncle Jim" has been a useful citizen and his departure will be missed by those associated with him. He is survived by one daughter, four sons, and one sister. Two of the sons and the daughter reside near Broken Bow, two sons of Caney, Oklahoma. His sister, Mrs. Martha Ann Chilcoat lives in Texarkana.
