All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Crown Hill Cemetery--Broken Bow OK McCurtain County Local Newspaper: Sep. 3, 1925 DIERKS CITIZEN WAS FATALLY INJURED __________ SUNDAY NIGHT EAST OF HERE -- FUNERAL HELD IN THIS CITY TUESDAY P.M. W.L. (Bill) Lambert, aged 31 years, of Dierks, Ark., was fatally injured in a car wreck which occurred about 16 miles east of Broken Bow, about 8:30 p.m. Sunday night. He was rushed to the hospital at De Queen, Ark., where an examination showed his skull was fractured. He was unconscious when first hurt, but regained consciousness before his death, which occurred about 9:30. Mr. and Mrs. Ben E. Lambert and Mr. and Mrs. Hunter Lambert, of this city, were notified immediately after the accident, but did not reach De Queen until after his death. The body was brought to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ben E. Lambert Monday and funeral services were conducted there Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 by Rev. W.C. Hilliard, pastor of the First Methodist Church, of Dierks, Ark. The body was laid to rest in Crown Hill Cemetery near this city. Mr. Lambert united with the Methodist Church when very young. He was a Royal Arch Mason and a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge. The Masonic Lodge of Dierks had charge of the body after the funeral. A large number of Dierks people attended the funeral. Mr. Lambert had lived in Dierks eight years, where he held a position with the Choctaw Lumber Company. He formerly lived in Broken Bow and had many friends here, as well as in Dierks. The floral offerings were beautiful and numerous. The deceased is survived by his wife and two daughters, aged 6 and 9; four brothers, Ben F. Lambert and Hunter Lambert, Broken Bow; Elmer Lambert, Oklahoma City, and J.C. Lambert, who could not be located, and one sister, Mrs. F.C. Sawyer, of Little Rock, Ark.
