Lester Lay, 85, died Friday, Oct. 31, 2003, in Broken Bow, Okla. He was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Crab Orchard, Ky. During his ministry he was pastor and built churches in Colorado, Oklahoma and Texas, as well as Grace Baptist Church in Vallejo and Fellowship Baptist Church in Vacaville. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Martha Lay, a grandson, three sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his second wife, Faye of DeQueen, Ark.; daughter, Pat Baker of American Canyon; three grandsons; and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Delbert of Ohio, Denver of Orlando, Fla., and Willis J. of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and four sisters, Loretta Wendland of Goshen, Ohio, Lila Loggins and Velma Logue, both of Crab Orchard, Ky., and Rose Bowers of Los Angeles. Services were held Nov. 4 in Lukfata Baptist Church in Broken Bow.
