::Rufe Cemetery--Rufe OK

Mary Ann Catherine Hood Lewey was born in Alabama in April 1844. She 
was a distant cousin to General John Bell Hood.

MCCurtain Gazette     Wednesday December 11, 1940

Mrs. M. C. Lewey,

Rufe, Dec. 11 - Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the 
Rufe cemetery for Mrs. M. C. Lewey, 96, with Rev. C. A. Sledge of 
Valliant, officiating.

Arrangements were under direction of Wilson Funeral home of Idabel.

Mrs. Lewey, who passed away Saturday, had been a member of the 
Methodist church for the past 67 years.  Her husband died in 1920.

Five children survive, four of whom were present at the funeral.  
They are Mrs. John Rogers, Bristow; Mrs. C. M. Rose, Denison, Tex.; 
Mrs. G. W. Thomas, Rattan; Mrs. M. A. Parrott, Rufe.  Seven 
grandchildren and four great grandchildren also survive.
