JAMES L. LEWIS
IS BURIED SUNDAY
 
  
James L . LEWIS, 72,Mount Zion , died at 8;50 a.m. Friday following an extended 
illness.
   
Born in Polk county , Ark. ,July 17,1882, he had resided in the Mount Zion 
community since before statehood, moving from Red River county, Tex. He was 
a retired farmer and a member of the Assembly of God church.
   
He is survived by his widow; three sons, Tommy LEWIS, Wright City; Clarence LEWIS , 
Idabel and Jessie LEWIS, Garvin; three daughters, Mrs Foy HURST, Oklahoma City, 
and Mrs Bud BATCHELOR, Wright City, and Mrs Teet WILLIAMSON, Garvin; one
brother, Forest LEWIS, McKinny , Tex; 34 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
   
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Wheelock church with Rev. A.L.DAILEY 
officiating.
   
Arrangements  and burial in Wheelock cemetery were under direction of Wilson funeral 
home.
   
Bearers were, Vernon PORTER, George MONK,  R.J.WHITAKER, R.D. BASTIBLE, 
Ed BASTIBLE and Bruce PRITCHETT.
