All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm ===================================================================== ::Forest Hill Cemetery--Garvin OK Louis McBride September 14, 1918 - December 19, 2005 Louis McBride, 87, of Idabel, passed away Monday, December 19, 2005 at Idabel. He was born September 14, 1918 in rural Idabel. He was the youngest of 8 children born to Eugene and Lora Bell (Lingo) McBride. He married Miriam Hiner on April 28, 1939 in Stillwater, OK Louis graduated from Smithville High School in 1938 and Oklahoma A & M College in Stillwater in 1942. He was employed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs from 1942 to 1952 except for an 18 month stint in the Army during World War II. For the last 46 years, Louis had been actively engaged as a real estate broker, owning and operating McBride Reality as well as several additional businesses including ranching and operating the Iron Stob Store at one time. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Maggie Lamb; brothers, Horace, Willis, Clide, Charly, and Bruce McBride; a granddaughter, and a grandson. Louis is survived by his wife, Miriam McBride of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Elwood and Marcella McBride of Idabel, Eddie and Ruby McBride of Henryetta, and Dwight and Darla McBride of Oklahoma City; a daughter, Synovia Lemmings of Cordell, Oklahoma; a sister, Annie Bell Batey of Pasadena, Texas; several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2005 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Idabel with Bro. Kent House officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery.
